The work of Rafael Lopez is a fusion of strong graphic style and magical symbolism. Growing up in Mexico City he was immersed by his architect parents in the rich cultural heritage and native color of street life.

Influenced by Mexican muralists he developed a bold, vital drawing style with roots in these traditions. Trained as an illustrator at the Art Center College of Design he finds inspiration in communicating concepts with an emotional twist. Clients include Apple Computers, Baltimore Symphonic Orchestra, Good Morning America, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Intel, Los Angeles Times, Los Lobos, Sierra Club, U.S. News and World Report and the World Wildlife Fund. He has won numerous awards and his work has been featured in Communication Arts, American Illustration Annual, Graphic Design USA and HOW.
